Walk It Off with the Y Join the Fun This Summer at Alton Baker Park! Get ready for sunshine, smiles, and movement! The Eugene Family YMCA invites you to be part of Walk It Off with the Y—a joyful summer tradition that brings our community together for connection, activity, and healthy fun. Every Wednesday, Alton Baker Park comes alive with guided and self-paced strolls and rolls, weekly prize raffles, upbeat music, and family-friendly activities. We’re looking for volunteers to help make the magic happen! Tasks include (but are not limited to) setting up the event, welcoming and checking in participants, sharing info, coordinating raffles, guiding group strolls through the park, and helping with clean-up. Whether you love chatting with people, being outdoors, or keeping things organized, there’s a spot for you on our volunteer team. Come be a part of the fun—and help our community move together this summer!
How you can help:
Eugene Family YMCA
Commitment: 10-20 hours per week, flexible schedule within typical business hours, with occasional optional weekend shifts for special events. 2-month duration, starting in mid or late June and ending in mid or late August. Possibility of continuing on into the school year. Duties: Support Eugene Family YMCA's MarCom team by drafting social media content; performing basic website updates; posting events to online community calendars; digital file organization; picking up decorations, signage and other supplies; assisting with special events; taking merch and swag inventory; and a variety of other MarCom tasks. Skills needed: English fluency, familiarity with Facebook and Instagram, computer-savvy, comfortable working on Windows OS, strong attention to detail, comfortable meeting and talking with new people. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle a plus. Benefits include: Valuable experience for students pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, journalism and other areas. Fun, fast-paced atmosphere. Positive and supportive team, working together at a busy and vibrant branch of a internationally recognized nonprofit organization. Open to college students! This position is unpaid.

Our Y Concierges play an important part in serving our community. They help our members and guests feel welcomed and included by greeting them with a warm smile, keeping our coffee and tea service stocked, keeping the lobby clean and organized, helping answer questions, engaging members in conversations, providing facility tours, and helping the Welcome Center staff serve the needs of our community.
