Eugene Family YMCA
Celebrated each year in September, the Welcoming Festival elevates the growing movement of communities that fully embrace new Americans and their contributions to the social fabric of our country. It's a chance for neighbors — both immigrant and U.S.-born residents — to get to know one another and celebrate what unites us as a community. This year, there will be some amazing performances, delicious food truck food, and other family-friendly fun. Volunteers will assist in helping the event run smoothly while enjoying the event!

At the Y, we believe voting isn’t just a civic duty, it’s also a key part of strengthening community! As a movement, the Y has been promoting civic engagement throughout its history. Voter registration and engagement provides the Y an opportunity to empower the people we serve, give them a voice in the issues that matter to them and build “social capital” in communities across the nation—in a totally nonpartisan way! This volunteer opportunity with the Eugene Family YMCA will provide the community with a resource to easily register to vote.

Our Y Concierges play an important part in serving our community. They help our members and guests feel welcomed and included by greeting them with a warm smile, keeping our coffee and tea service stocked, keeping the lobby clean and organized, helping answer questions, engaging members in conversations, providing facility tours, and helping the Welcome Center staff serve the needs of our community.
